I live in San Francisco and always go to A.Sabella's when I want fresh crab or salmon. Their steaks are excellent also. On a recent visit we were impressed beyond our expectations. They have updated the menu and the desserts were also fantastic. It's nice to see a local family restaurant that has kept up the standards. Many confuse A.Sabella's with the smaller ground floor eatery across the street which is totally different. Remember to go up to the third floor! |

I was disappointed in A. Sabella's. After reading the local travel guides promise that A. Sabella's would be a highlight of any trip to San Francisco, I found the food bland, the view of the bay non-existant, and the noise extreme.
I ordered a vegetarian pasta which was served with a tomato sauce that reminded me of salsa, but not even that tasty. We were seated in an area that there was no view of the water, and found the noise level to be that of the high school cafeteria. Had the service been better, it may have made up for the negatives, but it did not measure u |
