At Caldonia's they say, "Put some South in your
mouth," … and they mean it! Since their return from a
fire several years ago, this newer and larger restaurant at
Parker Road and Havana, with its huge blue awnings covering
an enormous patio, is really hard to miss. You can watch the games at the sand volleyball courts off the patio (while you sip a drink and luxuriate under the protection of the awnings) or you can run right out and join in, or just roast your peppers at courtside - (that would put you out in the sun). And, for the sports fan, you'll find quite a selection of games being offered on big screen t.v.'s (while the air-conditioning helps you stay cool). Plus, there's always billiards upstairs. If you have a little time you can browse the gallery of photographs of "famous" and "wish-I-was-famous" customers over the years
displayed along the walls. Look for The Rib King's photo
and article - he's there someplace.
In addition to their finger-licking original, Caldonia's
is now offering two new sauces to slather on their excellent ribs. The Memphis style and Oakie style sauces should appeal to everyone up and down the "I-know-good-sauce" scale. Caldonia's is where The Rib King set his "rib scarfing record" a couple of years back - and the food is still the same. When they see you coming, they'll light a fire under the pot for you.
Caldonia's is really the place to be! The friendly
hospitality of the waitstaff, and the restaurant's come-on-in atmosphere, make it a preferred pit-stop of many, a favorite haunt for others, a social choice for some, and a must-be-there kind of place for everyone seeking great food, good times, and chummy camaraderie. If you ask the "regulars," the say, "terrific, awesome, exceptional, outstanding, and 5-star." Whatever the event or occasion: dinner, drinks, social obligations, fun and memories, Caldonia's welcome mat is always out, making this destination worth the drive - even from the moon. |
