April 17, 2004. we drove down to visit our daughter and grandchildren in Gahanna. We thought we would stop for dinner at the Golden coral in Whitehall, Ohio. The service was so bad and it ruined our dinner. The table next to us ask for rolls. Instead of the waitress getting rolls or telling them that that service was no longer provided the rolls were at the buffet. She told them "get them yourself". The cust asked "don't you bring them to the table anymore?" She said back to them "Its not my job. Get them yourself". The cust went to the manager.
The manager yelled at the waitress in front of us. Then he went and got rolls for the customer. Then the waitress kept talking so we all heard how "her job was not to do anything and she had to be retained" and "those people's pop can go dry.." while she sat over by the window talking to a man with a Burger King uniform on. Needless to say we spent 37.00 that day and felt uncomfortable through the whole ordeal. The manager should have made her take a time out or made her go home to think about this attitude she was sharing with us all. I am a Supervisor for a large shipping co. and I would never dream of speaking with an employee in front of customers or allowed such disrespect to customers. |
