This little dive has been here (so I hear) for much longer than I've been alive. If you find yourself in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for an extended period of time, and you crave a Ponderosa Steakhouse steak, stop in here. The prices are great for the area, but the atmosphere is decidedly "hole-in-the-wall" staple.
Make sure to order the sour-cream for your baked-spud up-front... it's two-bits extra. A single serve salad-bar and a slice of Texas Toast accompany each steak. Nothing unique or snazzy. Just a good meat-and-potatoes meal.
Well worth it, if you crave some beef, and don't want to Filet your wallet.
You're likely to take in some local color upon your visit, too.
My five-star rating for ambiance comes from the fact that this place is a dive, it knows it, and it doesn't try to hide it. It's damn proud of it! |

Old style steakhouse, no sportsbar, no dancing, no strobelites or sushi, just good meat cooked to order. It is family operated so the service is good.
All the entres are reasonably priced, though there are add-ons for small items like condements, soft drinks etc. |
