Hiro's features Japanese cuisine prepared hibachi style at the table. The meal preparation itself is a show, with juggling salt shakers and flaming shrimp. All diners are seated at tables of eight - if your party is fewer, you may be joined with others.

The new location is awesome. It is the perfect compliment to food that is always tasty, fresh, and large portioned. The sushi is fresh, and I have never encountered any problems, even with large groups, entertaining clients, company parties, etc. The managers have always been proactive and aim to please. |

The food and everything has always been the best ever. I enjoy going to Hiro and is worth the wait, more then anywhere else in town that has steak. |

Today was my birthday, and my husband, sons, and their families took me to Hiro's for dinner. Although one son and his family had been before and highly recommended it, all nine of us were totally disappointed in how we were treated and, when we asked to see the manager, she/he refused to come out. To begin with, once we were seated, it was a while before we were served our beverages and then only the alcoholic drinks. The other drinks were served only when I asked about them a half hour later. Then my 3-year-old grandson began to eat a hamburger his mother brought in because of his particular appetite and the fact that he was unable to eat a lot of restaurant food. The manager sent word to her via the waiter that she had to take the food out because bringing in food was not allowed. Yet, they took the birthday cake in the kitchen when she brought it in. Also, another young child had a bottle which was obviously his choice of food. My daughter-in-law took her child outside and sat on the curb while he ate his dinner. She said if it were not my birthday, she would leave. My other daughter-in-law said we should make the best of it because it was too late to go anywhere else with their three children as it was a school night. I wanted to express my disappointment to the manager before we left, but my husband and sons asked me not to, saying that we would never go back again. We live here, we are not tourists, and would have gone back many times but not now. The manager did not have the decency to come out and explain the food "policy" or apologize for not being able to make an exception for my grandson to be able to eat inside instead of out in the parking lot, but instead hid out in the kitchen. If the manager had been courteous enough to talk with us at our request, I would not be writing this. However, now, we will not recommend this place to anybody! |

This is my favorite restaurant in Wilmington by far. Now in their new location, it is bigger and dare I say...BETTER than before. You can choose from the hibachi style dining which is a lot of fun and delicious, a sushi bar where the chefs prepare in front of you, or from a traditional menu setting.
I recommend the filet & jumbo shrimp from the hibachi, and pork terriyaki from the ala carte menu. My kids love the chicken terriyaki and hubby likes the spicy yakaniku filet and lobster.
Alex and Jennifer are the best servers, they've been there a while and can recommend new sushi dishes to try. The hostesses aren't the greatest, they are still kind of new, but once you get past them the evening will be enjoyable and the food superb. |

Hiro is a great restaurant, especially for middle age children. Not only is the food great but so is the way they cook it right in front of you. I would recommend Hiros. |
