Located near the Landfall subdivision a mile from the beach, Port City Chop House features a menu with a wide variety of steaks and meats. Other options are available though, such as seafood or pasta. All dinners come with a salad and side item, and though the home made desserts are extra, their original recipes and presentations offer a portion big enough for two.
Note: The restaurant's menu is more extensive than that listed on its homepage.

The entrees are top quality and fully priced. Drinks tend to be pricey and watch out for getting shorted. An honest drink is unusual. The biggest problem is not the waiter, they're usually well trained and hard working; it's the general manager. If there's a problem he looks down at the customer and doesn't know how to treat people correctly. After 1/2 hour waiting for a particular reserved table, he was not concerned with keeping us happy. We are a group who has been meeting monthly at the C/H for years, spending $350 each time, and he didn't seemed to care. This was not the first time, but it well be the last; we're going elsewhere, even though we live next door in Landfall. |

We have been to Port City Chop House on special occasions in the past two years. Until this last time on Aug 25, the food and service was excellent. However, this time was far from it.
Issues included the hostess taking us through the bar area to breathe second hand smoke and a medium well filet arriving rare. I could not find the server to send back and had to ask someone else to get her. After recooking, the filet will still undercooked.
Management did not come by and ask how our meal was. The hostess at the front did not acknowledge us leaving. I guess it will be awhile before returning to Port City Chop House. |
