I just went to Abuelo's for my first time the other night, and I *loved* it! there were three of us celebrating my a birthday. The waiter- Andrew- was very friendly, polite, and prompt but just a little too chatty. the food was excellent. our drinks were never low, our chips were replenished without asking. we didn't have to ask for a things. and at the end our server brought out an amazing dessert for my friend's birthday...wow...it reminded me of Baklavah with ice cream and no honey....sooo good....
I'm a server myself, and aside from the overly chatty server, everything was just right. kudos to Abuelo's- I will be back! |

Abuelos is another 'chain' of Mexican joints - but does have an 'upscale' appeal. The food is good, and the atmosphere is calmer and charming. The food is well dressed and enjoyable. All of this adds up to a nice restaurant at a higher price than others. |

Well, I eat here often and had not had the problem the former person had. I have found the food and service very good. Food is always hot, service fast and portions very large. I would say it is a great value. |

Food **, Service*. (8 Adults and 1 Toddler). We were given a pager and told the wait would be about 30 minutes. After 45 minutes we checked and were told they had paged us and we hadn't come (no page received). Then we had to wait another 15 minutes before we were seated. We ended up keeping our own table clear, going to find someone to replenish our drinks, chips & salsa, wiping up tea when drink refill was spilled, having to send back food that was presented with milk product toppings(despite explicite instructions as to a milk allergy and what to leave off the platter) and having to dodge wait staff after one of us was bumped into several times. Waiter improved a bit after our Pennsylvania daughter talked to him (this was not her duty). We arrived at 7:30 and did not finish until 10:00. This was to be a special Birthday Celebration for our 1 year old granddaughter and our oldest daughter who flew in from Pennsylvania for the weekend. Also the accoustics made the noise level such that one could only converse with the person next to them. The food was OK, but the ambience and the service was deplorable. |
