I agree with the RW above. Joe Allens served the best steak I have ever had in my life, and if I didnt live in San Antonio, I would eat there every day if I could. |

I have to wonder if the other review is legit. Everyone I know loves this place--the lot is always full at meal times. I went to college in Abilene and loved it. They have great BBQ dinners & sandwiches but if you're a steak lover, this is the place. Ribeyes are outstanding (I prefer the 1 1/4 inch/Medium rare). It's a run-down old shack of a building which only adds to the lore. Only drawback is that you have to wait in line twice (if you get a steak). Once to order & to pay after done (steaks have to be weighed). Best value for outstanding steaks. |

Any place that does not consider brisket to be barbecue is a waste of time in my book. Bad service, overpriced, very bad attitude. |
