I came here on the recommendation of the Innkeepers at the Frederick House. It was an easy walk from the hotel through historic downtown Staunton.
This restaurant is located in a very historic old mill building. There are exposed brick and stone walls throughout.
The menu is quite extensive and features ribs, steak, seafood and chicken. There are aslo sandwiches and lighter fare.
The have full bar service and quite a nice selection of beers. They are served in very frosty glasses.
The butter the day we were there was pumpkin butter and it was the perfect accompaniment to the loaf of three types of bread. It is baked like a shamrock witj all the leaves a different variety.
I orderd the Cajun shrimp and it had plenty of spice and two very generous skewers of shrimp served with baked potato and my husband had a steak with garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was attractively plated and served piping hot.
For dessert we shared a divine pumpkin tiramisu. A very creative dish.
Service was excellent and prices were reasonable. I wish we lived in Staunton because I would certainly be a regular diner here. |
