I go monthly. Quiet place, tables spaced well apart, casual to business casual attire. I order prime rib every time. It's accompanied with whatever sides they have made that day(sauted spinach maybe or potatoes au gratin), comes quickly and tastes great (and tender).
The wait staff is professional -- no first names, no hovering -- just professional, friendly, efficient service. The hostesses get to know your name and greet you nicely.
Atmosphere is dark woody, like a large cabin maybe. Not fancy, not cheesy, just comfortable, dim but not dark. Love it |

Unlike the "other" national steakhouse chains, this one is local and offers an exceptional value, especially for lunch. The steaks are very good and is one of the few places that makes a "Pittsburgh Black." steak right! The other good things about JR's is that you can actually talk and hear what the other person is saying, without the buz and noice most of the other "chain" steakhouses have. Furthermore, the service has always been very good. |
